The G7 on Monday reaffirmed its financial support to Kiev with the creation of a Donor Coordination Platform during a meeting attended telematically by Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski against the backdrop of «Russia’s illegal, unjustifiable and unprovoked war» against Ukraine.

«With a view to supporting the repair, recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, together with Kyiv and our international partners and in close coordination with relevant international organizations and financial institutions, we will establish a Donor Coordination Platform,» they said in a joint statement.

The G7 has condemned «Russia’s continued inhumane and brutal attacks on critical infrastructure, in particular energy and water facilities.» «We recall that indiscriminate attacks against the civilian population or civilian objects, constitute a war crime,» they have sentenced.

In this regard, they have reiterated that they will support Kiev in the face of winter supply, as well as will continue to support «Ukraine’s civilian resistance». «We will redouble our efforts in this regard during the international conference to be held in Paris on December 13,» they said.

The G7 has indicated that, to date, there is «no evidence that Russia is committed to sustainable peace efforts» while stressing that one of the main objectives is to «address global food insecurity».

«We will continue to support the delivery of grain and fertilizer to vulnerable countries in need and welcome recent operations led by the World Food Program (WFP) on this front,» they said.

They have also condemned Russia’s «continued seizure and militarization of the Zaporiyia nuclear power plant,» as well as the «abduction and alleged abuse of Ukrainian personnel and the deliberate destabilization of its operations.»

On the other hand, they have also emphasized that the price cap for oil products of Russian origin will come into force on February 5, 2023. «We will maintain and intensify economic pressure on Russia and on those who evade and undermine our restrictive measures,» they added.
