The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, has denounced Friday new attacks by the Russian Army against the Ukrainian capital and has indicated that so far «explosions» have been registered in three districts of the city, with no casualties so far.
Klitschko has indicated through his Telegram account that there have been explosions in Desnian, Dnipro and Holosiiv, while calling on the population «not to leave the shelters». «Attacks on the capital continue,» he has warned.
He has also said that «traffic in the Metro has been suspended on all lines» and stressed that «subway stations function as shelters». «We will report when traffic is restored,» he said, before confirming «interruptions in the water supply in all areas» because of «damage to the energy infrastructure» due to the Russian attacks.
For his part, the governor of Kiev, Oleksi Kuleba, has stated that «air defense systems are functioning in the region». «The enemy is attacking Ukraine on a massive scale. There is an increased danger. Stay in shelters. Do not take pictures or post them on the Internet,» he has demanded.
Ukrainian authorities have also confirmed attacks by Russian forces on targets in Krivi Rih, Poltava and Kharkov, in which case «critical infrastructure» has been hit, the region’s governor, Oleg Sinegubov, has highlighted via his Telegram account.
