The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, has assured that Russia could announce a new general mobilization and does not rule out that it will try again to take over Kiev.
«They can strengthen their positions. We understand that this may happen. Moreover, we do not rule out the possibility that they will declare a general mobilization,» Danilov has stated in an interview for ‘Ukrainian Pravda’.
Danilov speculated that this mobilization would also have been called «to exterminate the largest possible number» of Russian citizens and thus not have «any problems on their territory».
In that sense, Danilov has also recalled that Russia has not given up on taking control of Kiev nor on the idea of «destroying» Ukraine completely. «We must be ready for anything,» he said.
«I want us all to understand that they have not given up the idea of destroying our nation. If they don’t have Kiev in their hands, they have nothing in their hands, we have to understand that,» Danilov has expressed, who has also not ruled out that the new Russian offensive will come from «Belarus and other territories.»
Thus, Danilov has celebrated the decision of many of his compatriots to stay in the Ukrainian capital when the war broke out and protect it. «They expected that there would be panic, that people would flee, that there would be no one to defend Kiev», among them, he said, President Volodimir Zelenski.
