Ukraine’s state-owned power operator Ukrenergo reported Monday that its efforts are focused for the time being on repairing critical power facilities, with the result that individual supply to Ukrainian households «may take a long time.»
Ukrenergo has reported that the most difficult situation is developing in the central and eastern regions of the country. In fact, the authorities have introduced as an emergency measure a schedule of power cuts in all regions on the eastern bank of the Dnieper River.
«Despite all the damage, the power industry is keeping the situation under control,» Ukrenergo said in a statement released via Telegram, where the agency has stressed that as of today it continues to work «synchronized» with the rest of Europe’s power grid.
Within the framework of the latest Russian offensive on the country, Ukrenergo has confirmed that Russian UAVs have attempted to attack energy facilities throughout the country, although these attacks have been repelled by Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses.
«The enemy missed their target completely, but, unfortunately, there are several hits on infrastructure facilities,» the Ukrainian energy agency said, assuring that repair work is already underway.
