The head of Ukraine’s National Defense and Security Council, Oleksi Danilov, assured Monday that the Chechnya region will only be part of Russia «as long as (Vladimir) Putin is alive» and insisted that «once Putin leaves it will be a free country.»
Danilov has pointed out that Putin and the leader of the Chechen region, Ramzan Kadirov, have reached an agreement whereby the Russian president «gives everything.» «Money, opportunities, orders, welfare, everything. In return, Chechnya remains part of Russia, but as soon as Putin leaves, it will become a free country,» he stressed.
«Whether with Kadyrov or without him, it is definitely going to happen very soon because it is a separate country that has nothing to do with Russia. The situation is different, everyone knows that. It was Putin who gave the order to kill Kadyrov’s father,» he said, Ukrinform news agency reported.
In this regard, he asserted that «taking into account the laws of this country, there has to be an obligatory response.» «Putin is afraid of Kadirov because he is a person who can cause him a lot of problems,» he said.
