Two civilians and a military officer were killed and one other civilian was injured Monday in a suicide bombing in Miransha, in Pakistan’s North Waziristan province.
The Pakistani Armed Forces have informed that the deceased soldier is Naik Abid, 33 years old and originally from the town of Mansehra, according to the newspaper ‘Dawn’.
Last Wednesday another soldier and a civilian were killed in a suicide attack also in Miransha and on December 5 five militiamen and a soldier were killed in an anti-terrorist operation in the town of Jhallar Algad, also in North Waziristan.
Meanwhile, negotiations continue with detained militiamen who have mutinied and taken control of a police station of the Anti-Terrorism Department in Bannu.
The militiamen — belonging to Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Pakistani Taliban — managed to seize the weapons of the officers and took several hostages, including interrogators. After gaining a foothold, they demanded a safe exit.
Also on Monday thirteen people were injured in an explosion in Umar Farooq Chowk in Balochistan province. The blast was triggered late Monday night by the detonation of a bomb planted on a motorcycle.
