The Attorney General’s Office of the Mexican state of Baja California reported Thursday the discovery of nine bodies in a clandestine grave located on a road in the hills that divide Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito, in the northwestern part of the country.
The bodies present a very advanced state of decomposition that has prevented investigators from identifying the identity of the victims, making it impossible to determine the gender due to these conditions, as reported by the Reforma news agency.
In addition to the nine bodies, six bone parts of different dimensions have been found, which could belong to four different bodies, although the investigation is still open.
The discovery comes only two days after the bodies of two people were found on the same road. With these nine bodies, 21 people have been found dead in groups between the towns of Tecate, Ensenada and Tijuana since December 19, according to the aforementioned agency.
That same day, a panel van was abandoned with six lifeless bodies, five men and one woman, parked in front of a pharmacy in the central Plaza Conquistador shopping plaza, in the heart of Tijuana’s «golden» zone.
Meanwhile, on December 21, four bodies were found inside a gray Hyundai vehicle, abandoned inside a ranch known as El Chapo, between Tecate and Ensenada.
The Attorney General’s Office continues its investigation to determine who has left the lifeless bodies of the people in different places in the northwest of the country, in addition to trying to discover if they are related to each other.
