The Estonian authorities announced Friday that they will send a new package of military aid to Ukraine in view of the winter and as a sign of support for the country in the midst of Russia’s invasion of the territory.
The country’s Defense Ministry said in a statement that it plans to send «individual protective equipment to cope with the harsh winter» and stressed that Estonia «stands by Ukraine».
«In particular, bulletproof vests, plates for vests, drones, material for cleaning weapons and assisted ventilation devices will be sent,» the text states, noting that «Ukraine still needs help to resist Russian aggression.»
This time, it states, the shipment supplements the requests made by the Ukrainian government, as well as the bilateral agreements reached between the parties. The Minister of Defense, Hanno Pevkur, has indicated that the country has already provided aid to Ukraine in the past valued at 255 million euros and including rockets, howitzers, mines, grenade launchers and mortars, among others.
