Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky on Friday alerted the Ukrainian population to the possibility that the Russian Armed Forces «are active» and may carry out new attacks during the Christmas holidays.
«They despise Christian values and any values in general. Therefore, pay attention to the aerial warning signs. Help each other and always protect yourselves,» Zelensky said, Ukrinform news agency reported.
Zelensky, who held a meeting at the headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ supreme controlling body to monitor the military situation on the ground, also addressed a separate message to Russian citizens, stressing that «terror never goes unanswered».
Separately, the Ukrainian leader has thanked the U.S. Congress for passing a $1.7 trillion bill for the next fiscal year that includes about $45 billion in additional military, economic and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
