Ukraine’s top presidential adviser, Mikhail Podoliak, has denied Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, saying that Moscow is not interested in any negotiations as a sign that it continues to «kill citizens» and that they are just trying to «evade their responsibilities».
Podoliak has said that «Putin needs to come back to reality» and questioned the motives he has been putting forward to justify the invasion of Ukraine. «There are no other ‘countries, motives, geopolitics.’ Russia doesn’t want negotiations, but is trying to shirk its responsibilities. It’s obvious,» he has written on Twitter.
«We will not see in court,» Podoliak has settled, in line with Ukraine’s line of not sitting down to negotiate with Russia as long as it is under the conditions imposed from the Kremlin.
Volodimir Zelenski, the president’s top advisor, also spoke out hours earlier about the latest Russian offensive on Kherson on the eve of Christmas Day, leaving 16 dead and dozens wounded, using it to criticize those who support the Kremlin’s so-called peace initiatives.
«I will remind those who propose to take Putin’s ‘peace’ initiatives into account that right now Russia is ‘negotiating’, killing the inhabitants of Kherson, wiping out Bajmut, destroying the Kiev and Odessa networks, torturing civilians in Melitopol…. Russia wants to kill with impunity,» he wrote on Twitter.
«Killing women, children and the elderly on Christmas Eve! That’s what ‘Russian peace’ is Turning Kherson into a ‘dead city’ with Grad shells after cowardly fleeing! That is the very essence of Russia’s bloodlust,» he has cried out.
