The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported Sunday that Ukrainian troops are keeping the frontline of Bakhmut, a town in the Donetsk region (east), under control despite constant Russian fire.
According to the figures provided by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, more than 50 Russian servicemen have been killed and about 80 wounded in the framework of the clashes for Bajmut, which has become in the last days one of the hottest points in the conflict in Ukraine.
The spokesman of the eastern group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergii Cherevi, has affirmed that Moscow has been paralyzed on the front of Bajmut thanks to the «heroism» of the Ukrainian troops. He made similar assurances on Friday, when he stressed that Russia was suffering heavy losses both in terms of human lives and military equipment.
Likewise, Cherevi has expressed in his last report, picked up by the UNIAN news agency, that the Russian troops, besides operating in Bajmut and Avdiivka, plan to carry out a counteroffensive and advance in the direction of Limanske.
On the other hand, the General Staff has reported on its Telegram profile that Ukrainian troops have attacked the «occupiers’ headquarters» in Zabarine, in the Kherson region. «(Members of) the Armed Forces were held. As a result, up to 70 military personnel were wounded. The number of dead is being clarified,» he states in his report.
