Ecuadorian authorities reported on Sunday that three people have died in the wreck of a tourist yacht in the Colta Lagoon, in central Ecuador.
These fatalities are a five-month-old baby, a three-year-old child and a 53-year-old woman.
Emergency services have rescued about 40 people.
The President of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, has conveyed the Government’s «deepest condolences» to the families of the fatalities and has called for an investigation.
«Our embrace to their families and our commitment to demand that investigations be initiated to determine those responsible,» he said in a message on his Twitter profile.
