
At least six people have died and 19 are missing on the day of December 25 as a result of flooding caused by heavy rains in the Philippines.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday that all the fatalities reported so far have drowning as the cause of death. In addition, three people are injured.
According to the NDRRMC, a total of 100,691 people have been affected by the rains. Of the affected population, 44,672 are currently staying in evacuation centers.
There have also been problems with the power supply in 36 cities and municipalities, as well as interruptions to the water supply.
