
Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed former Russian President and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev as the new ‘number two’ of the Russian Military Industrial Commission.
According to a presidential decree published on Monday, Medvedev will hold the position of deputy chairman of this commission, which is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the country’s military policies, reports TASS.
The body is headed by Putin himself and includes other prominent members of the Russian military leadership, such as Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Chief of the General Staff Valeri Gersimov, and the heads of Russian Intelligence and the National Guard, among others.
