Agents of the National Police have arrested in Gijón two fugitives who had an International Arrest Warrant issued by the Mexican authorities for an alleged crime of intentional homicide. The two detainees, who are brothers, and a third person approached the victim, who was outside a bar located in the Mexican town of Huixquilucan, and beat him to death.
The investigations began last December 20, when the National Police received a communication from the Mexican Attaché Office alerting them to the possible presence in Spain of two brothers, aged 20 and 22, wanted for a homicide committed in their country of origin. Once the validity of the request was verified, and given the dangerousness of these two persons and their high criminal profile, the agents began the investigation with the highest priority.
As there was no trace of these individuals in Spain, the investigation focused on their family environment, with intensive coordination with Mexico. These efforts provided data on the relatives, allowing a general picture of the entire family environment to be drawn. As a result, it was found that their most direct relatives were currently traveling to Asturias from their country of origin.
In addition, a guesthouse in Gijón was detected as a private tourist accommodation in the name of the fugitives’ father. With this information, a surveillance device was set up in the vicinity of the establishment, where the two brothers were spotted and arrested.
THEY BEAT THE VICTIM TO DEATH The events for which these two brothers were wanted took place in July 2022, when the victim was outside a bar located in the municipality of Huixquilucan.
At that time, the accused arrived at the place in the company of another person and immediately assaulted the victim using the mataleón technique. They then beat him until he was unconscious on the floor, continuing with the aggression until they ended his life.
