The Government of India has announced that, as of Sunday, travelers from China -including Hong Kong–, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand will be required to present a negative coronavirus test to enter Indian territory.
The move, announced by Indian Health Minister Mansuj Mandaviya, comes in response to growing international concern over the spike in cases of COVID-19 detected in China, linked to the recent lifting of most restrictions.
India, which is adopting a protocol similar to that also confirmed by the governments of the United States and Italy, among other countries, had already begun randomly testing 2 percent of international travelers.
