Ukrainian authorities reported Wednesday that at least 60 percent of the town of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region has been destroyed as a result of ongoing missile attacks.
The military governor of the Donetsk region, Pavlo Kyrylenko, has indicated that Ukrainian troops «bravely defend Bajmut and prevent the enemy from advancing.»
«But, unfortunately, the town, which is more than 60 percent destroyed, is under constant shelling,» the governor said, as reported by the Ukrainian news agency Unian.
Kyrylenko also lamented the death of civilians as a result of the attacks, adding that at least two people — two women — were killed by a missile on Wednesday.
