The Ukrainian government on Friday denounced a new attack on a fire station in the recently liberated southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, the second such shelling in two days, which has left an undetermined number of «dead and wounded» hours before the entry into force of the unilateral ceasefire declared by the Kremlin.
«Four explosions have been recorded and a house next to the station has started burning,» presidential aide Kirilo Tymoshenko reported on his Telegram channel at around 10:30 a.m. (local time), an hour and a half before Moscow’s ceasefire came into force.
«And then (the Russians) talk about a ‘ceasefire,'» criticized Tymoshenko, who said that these bombings «are beyond the comprehension of any civilized process.» «Murderers, terrorists and bloodthirsty. This is what we are at war with,» she has stated.
According to Yaroslav Yanushevich, head of the Ukrainian administration in Kherson, Russian troops shelled the region as many as 58 times and at least 14 attacks targeted the eponymous capital. According to Ukraine, a family of three, including a 12-year-old child, were killed as a result of shelling in the town of Berislav.
