The Brazilian Federal Police (PF) has found in the home of former Minister of Justice and Public Security Anderson Torres, who served under former President Jair Bolsonaro, a proposed decree to reverse the outcome of the elections in which the current Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, won.
The document, which was found in the former minister’s closet during a raid by the Federal Police on Tuesday, defends the use of Article 136 of the Brazilian Constitution, as reported by the newspaper ‘Folha de Sao Paolo’.
This article is activated only when «public order or social peace» is «threatened by a serious and imminent institutional instability», although the Brazilian media points out that the document found in the ex-minister’s house would be after the holding of elections, so it would be unconstitutional.
In the raid, authorized by the Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes after ordering Torres’ arrest, the police also seized a weapon, his notebook, as well as a pendrive, according to the newspaper ‘O Globo’.
