The net attributable profit of U.S. bank BNY Mellon was 2,362 million dollars (2,183 million euros) in the whole of 2022, a fall of 34 percent compared to the previous year, the financial institution reported Friday when it published its income statement.
Total income rose 3 percent to 16.377 billion dollars (15.134 billion euros). Net interest income rose 34 percent to 3.504 billion (3.238 billion euros), while income from fees and commissions was 12.873 billion (11.896 billion euros), down 3 percent.
Assets under management recorded a 25 percent decline in total value in the fourth quarter of the year on a year-on-year basis, to $1.836 trillion (€1.697 trillion).
The bank’s CET1 capital ratio, the highest quality ratio, remained unchanged at 11.2 percent, while return on equity (ROE) was 5.7 percent, down eight-tenths of a percent.
In the fourth quarter of 2022 alone, the bank’s net profit was 509 million dollars (470 million euros), a 38 percent decrease, while turnover fell by 2 percent to 3,918 million (3,621 million euros).
