UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s popularity rating has fallen after nearly 100 days at the helm of the country, a post he assumed in October 2022, according to the results of a poll released Friday.
Polling firm YouGov has indicated that as Sunak nears three months in office, citizens appear to be gradually withdrawing their support.
Thus, the poll indicates that three in five Britons, around 60 percent, now have an «unfavorable» perception of the ‘premier’, including 34 percent who consider his position «very unfavorable».
Last October, the percentage of people who were against Sunak was around 48 percent, while 39 percent of respondents viewed his appointment positively.
Thus, the survey shows that critical voices have increased by 20 percent in the last three months. Sunak, 42, became the youngest head of government in history and the first of Indian origin after resigning as a Cabinet minister under former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Johnson was succeeded by former Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, who served only 45 days in office, the shortest government in UK history.
