Iran’s government has summoned Ukraine’s chargé d’affaires in Tehran on Monday over Kiev’s comments following the alleged drone attack on a military facility in Isfahan province (center).
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the chargé d’affaires has been summoned to explain the statements of Ukrainian presidential advisor Mikhail Podoliak on what happened, Iran’s Press TV reported.
Podoliak posted a message on his account on the social network Twitter on Sunday in which he ironized about an «explosive night in Iran.» «We warned about it,» he added, amid Kiev’s accusations against Tehran over the delivery of drones to Russia as part of the invasion.
Iranian authorities on Saturday denounced a drone attack on an ammunition warehouse in Isfahan, after which U.S. military sources quoted by ‘The Wall Street Journal’ pointed to the event being the work of Israeli drones.
According to these sources, the target was an ammunition factory located next to a facility of the Iranian Space Research Center, an organization sanctioned by the United States for its work with ballistic missiles. Israel has not yet commented on the incident.
