Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro said Sunday during a Church of All Nations evangelical church event in Boca Raton, Florida, United States, that his «mission is not over» and that he plans to return to Brazil «in the coming weeks.»
«We all have a mission here on Earth. And my mission is not over yet,» the former president said during his speech, according to the newspaper ‘O Globo’.
The former president also announced his intention to return to Latin America: «I also want to return to Brazil, I intend to return to Brazil in the next few weeks», announced the conservative leader in an event that, according to its organizers, gathered around 1,000 attendees.
Also, Bolsonaro has stressed that there is no leadership in Brazil at this time that groups the electorate of the right wing at national level, but that these leaders are emerging at regional level, while also affirming his interest in collaborating with these leaders: «We will become stronger. We will be back», he assured.
Jair Bolsonaro has been in the United States since the end of December 2022, thus evading the takeover of the current president of Brazil, while investigations into his responsibility for the assault on government buildings on January 8 are ongoing.
During his stay in the United States, the former president has attended several conservative events where he has taken the opportunity to revive his policies and praise the successes of his term in office. One of them took place last week at the ‘Power of the People’ meeting, directed by Turning Point Usa, a non-profit organization aimed at the youth of the conservative wing of the North American country.
The event took place at the Trump National Doral Miami, property of former President Donald Trump, where Bolsonaro lashed out against leftist governments in Latin America and stressed how they endanger what has been achieved so far: «We know that the left seeks equality, but they want equality in poverty», said Bolsonaro, as quoted by the aforementioned agency.
In addition, regarding his defeat in the last elections, the former president said: «I don’t know why I lost», before an audience of at least 400 supporters.
