At least two civilians were wounded Wednesday by a shell fired by Russian forces at a skyscraper in the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, located in the Donetsk region (east), officials said.
«Russians have attacked Pokrovsk and hit a skyscraper, injuring at least two civilians,» Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kirilenko said. «Rescuers have managed to pull two people out of the entrance, which has been destroyed. Rescue operations are underway and the consequences of the attack are being clarified,» he said on his Telegram account.
The Donetsk region, partially occupied by Russian troops, has been the main epicenter for weeks of Moscow’s offensive, which in September announced that it was annexing this territory along with the regions of Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporiyia. The decision was rejected outright by the international community.
