The head of the Wagner Group mercenary organization, Yevgeni Prigozhin, has explained that his ideal is to create an »army with ideology» that fights »for justice».
»The Wagner private military group must become the best private army in the world, a just army capable of defending the state, an army with ideology and that ideology is the fight for justice,» Prigozhin explained in statements published on a Telegram channel affiliated with the organization.
Prigozhin has also referred to Wagner’s leading role in the Russian offensive on the strategic Ukrainian locality of Bajmut and has advanced some of his future plans. »After the capture of Artiomovsk (Bakhmut) we are going to start with the restart. In particular, we are going to start recruiting new people from the regions,» he said.
On Friday Prigozhin announced that Wagner had already opened recruitment centers in 42 cities to attract new fighters. Among them are ex-convicts.
A few days ago Prighozhin ironized about his political future and stated that he intended to run in the Ukrainian presidential elections scheduled for 2024.
