The former vice president of the United States has said that former President Donald Trump reproached him for his opposition to a plan to cast doubt on the results of the 2020 elections and told them that he would be remembered as «a coward», according to an excerpt from his new book published in ‘The Wall Street Journal’.

Pence has revealed that Trump criticized him for being «too honest» during those days in which the tycoon and his people were questioning Joe Biden’s electoral triumph.

«‘Hundreds of thousands of people are going to hate you. People are going to think you’re stupid,'» he claims former President Trump told him. «‘You will be remembered as a coward,'» Pence claims that the then head of the White House told him, who assured that he made «‘a big mistake'» when he chose him as his second.

Four days before a mob of seditious, exalted supporters of Donald Trump stormed the Capitol, Pence recalls after supporting the right of several legislators to file objections under the election law, Trump’s mood «improved» but he continued to press for his rejection of the recount of the electoral votes that was to take place on January 6.

«‘You’ve gone from very unpopular to popular!'» he claims Trump told him to then warn him that if he wanted to «be a historical figure» he could not «chicken out» at the last moment, as read in this excerpt from his book ‘So Help Me God’ (‘So Help Me God’), which will see the light next Tuesday, November 15.

The book will be on sale on the same day that former President Trump plans to make the «big announcement» from his lavish Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida that he will be running for the 2024 presidential race.
