
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Friday congratulated the Polish people on the National Independence Day and said that they will win the war «all together» against Russia.
«Dear Poland, you restored your independence 104 years ago and here are my 104 words for you. Ukraine and Poland are together. You are her sister. It was different between us, but we are relatives and we are free,» he has asserted in connection with the marked date, which dates back to November 1918.
Thus, he has recalled that when Ukraine celebrated its 30th anniversary of independence, Poland was close. «I remember that there was joy. When we face a common and old enemy, Poland is on our side,» he insisted, Ukrinform agency reported.
In this regard, he has guaranteed that Ukrainians «will always remember it.» «Your people are our allies. It is a brotherly and friendly country forever. And we will be victors all together,» he said.
He has been joined by the Prime Minister of the country, Denis Shmigal, and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, who has also expressed his congratulations.
