The U.S. Army announced Tuesday the death of an Islamic State leader, identified as Khalid Ayyd Ahmad al Jabouri, in a strike in Syria.
According to a statement from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the jihadist was responsible for planning Islamic State attacks in Europe and was responsible for the development of the hierarchical structure of the group, whose foreign operations are now paralyzed for a time, the Americans have assured.
General Michael Kurill, in charge of CENTCOM in the area, confirmed his death and explained that »Islamic State still poses a danger to the region, although degraded, the group was still capable of carrying out operations in the region, and there was a desire to operate outside the Middle East».
In the operation there have been no civilian casualties or injuries, the Army has reported.
