The events took place at around 3:25 a.m., when the convoys collided and derailed in a construction zone.
An investigation has already been opened
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to clarify what happened, since the maintenance work theoretically affected tracks that were not in use.
At the moment there is one deceased
The incident left one person dead, identified as a construction worker.
At least 19 dead
Another 19 passengers on the train have been taken to a hospital with injuries of varying degrees of severity.
The passenger train was carrying 50 people
About 50 people were on board the passenger convoy.
