The head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeni Prigozhin, on Tuesday visited the St. Petersburg cafe where an explosion occurred on Sunday that killed Russian blogger Maxim Fomin, known as Vladlen Tatarski.
Tatarski was a member of the Cyvber Front Z group, a Kremlin-friendly organization that Prigozhin has now encouraged to confront not only Tatarski’s death, but also all the »tragic situations that have occurred.»
The head of the Wagner Group on Monday expressed regret over Tatarski’s death and confirmed that the cafe where the explosion occurred was owned by him. »They held several seminars there,» his office’s official account on the social network Twitter highlighted.
Tatarski was among the bloggers with contacts in the Russian forces who regularly criticize military commanders, although rarely the target is the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. Putin himself has recognized the importance of these propagandists to the point that the Kremlin has created a body to coordinate the government with these content creators.
