A long history behind him
Sánchez Dragó has written numerous novels such as »Eldorado», »Las fuentes del Nilo», »El camino del corazón», »La prueba del laberinto», »Muertes paralelas» and »Soseki, inmortal y tigre»; he is also the author of, among others, the essays »Gárgoris y Habidi».
Born in Madrid
Sánchez Dragó was born in Madrid in 1936, although he has been an adopted son of Soria since 1992.
Traveled around the world
With a degree in Romance Philology and Modern Languages, he has taught Spanish Language, Literature and History at universities in various countries such as Japan, Senegal, Morocco and Kenya, as well as directing Summer Courses in El Escorial, Almería, Seville, Cuenca and Ávila.
Head of the College of Spain in Paris
As a writer, he has worked as a narrator, literary reviewer, essayist and contributor to the press and magazines. Since May 2001 he has been director of the Colegio de España in Paris.
Spent 17 months in jail
Throughout his life he has been committed to various causes, such as his involvement in the anti-Franco riots of the late fifties and early sixties, which earned him five trials, seventeen months in prison and seven years in exile.
He has worked as a special envoy
Sánchez Dragó has been a special envoy to numerous destinations in Asia, Africa and America as a press contributor. His literary life has often been linked to his work in the media, both visual and written, and he has also worked in television abroad.
