The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has counted 18 Palestinian deaths in IDF actions in the West Bank so far in 2022, making this year already the deadliest in the West Bank since 2005.

OCHA’s bi-monthly protection of civilians report lists 18 Palestinians killed and more than 200 injured, Palestinian news agency WAFA reports.

The most serious incident was the Israeli covert operation in which six Palestinians were killed and 28 others injured in Nablus and Jenin on October 25 and November 3.

Five other Palestinians were killed in four incidents in various locations in the West Bank, the latest being a 15-year-old teenage girl killed just this Monday.

In addition, OCHA includes in its report that Israeli forces are restricting the movement of Palestinians and have demolished, confiscated or forced to evacuate 54 properties in East Jerusalem and Area C of the West Bank citing the absence of licenses issued by Israeli authorities. Seven of these properties were built with humanitarian or cooperation aid.

As a result, 35 people have been evicted from their homes, including 16 minors, and nearly 200 other people have been affected.

As many as 41 of these properties were located in Area C and eleven of them were seized without notice and their owners have had no recourse.

Thirteen other buildings were demolished in East Jerusalem, six of them homes that were destroyed by their owners to avoid having to pay fines to the Israeli authorities.

In addition, OCHA reports 23 incidents in which Jewish settlers have disrupted the harvesting of olive groves in various ways. Ten Palestinians and eight members of the Israeli security forces were injured in these incidents. More than 350 olive trees have been damaged and large quantities of olives have been stolen.
