Trump’s former vice president says there will be «better choices» than the mogul in Republican primaries

The former vice president of the United States during the Trump Administration, Mike Pence, said Monday that the Republican Party will have «better options» than the former president to the primaries of his party to opt for the presidential elections of 2024, adding that he is also considering running.

The former ‘number two’ of the White House has argued that after the officialization of Donald Trump’s candidacy to run for the presidency after the Republican primaries, there will be better options, noting that the American people will be the ones who must ratify or not the tycoon again as president of the country.

In this sense, Pence has confirmed that he is evaluating with his family the possibility of presenting his candidacy to the primaries of the Republican Party.

«And for me and my family, we will be reflecting on what our roles will be in that (a possible candidacy),» he added according to the aforementioned network.

Pence, who was seen as a loyal counterpart of Trump during his administration, has told on several occasions since then that the former president insulted him repeatedly when he implored him to prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 elections, the day of the assault on the Capitol, ‘Politico’ has reported.

After that, the former vice president called Trump’s rhetoric at a rally «reckless» and showed his anger over a Trump tweet in which he said that his vice president did not have the courage to do what needed to be done.

Donald Trump will make «a special announcement» on Tuesday in which he will presumably introduce his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election, although he may garner less support than expected within the Republican Party after the results of last week’s midterm elections.
