The Government of Finland announced Friday an aid package to Ukraine worth 78 million euros, including the delivery of equipment for training Ukrainian servicemen of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Support of Ukraine (EUMAM).
»Finland is supplying defensive material for the training of Ukrainian soldiers in the EUMAM operation,» said the Finnish Ministry of Defense in a statement, which stressed that the aim of this bloc mission is to give »basic and specialized training to 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers».
Thus, the Finnish Minister of Defense, Antti Kaikkonen, has underlined that »Ukraine needs various types of support». »We participate in the EU training mission by providing training to Ukrainian soldiers and the necessary military assistance,» he stressed.
Helsinki emphasized that this is the 15th package of military assistance to Ukraine and detailed that »the compensable value of all packages of defensive equipment delivered to Ukraine amounts to about 990 million euros».
