The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on Wednesday denied visas to the Russian delegation, which had requested them in order to attend the Parliamentary Assembly to be held in Warsaw, the Polish capital.

Barbara Bartus, who heads the Polish delegation, replied to the Russian deputies that «there is no possibility» of receiving these visas, as Vladimir Khabarov, deputy chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian Senate, informed in a statement.

«We were not hopeful about the possibility of achieving full participation in the next session to be held in Warsaw but we still requested to attend,» he said before stating that, «unfortunately, an outrageous answer has been received from the Polish delegation.»

Thus, he condemned Bartus’ words on the impossibility of allowing them to participate in the assembly, considering that their presence «would violate the principle of solidarity with Ukraine», which has been under invasion by Russian forces since the end of February.

«Taking into account that the participation of the Russian delegation in Warsaw is not possible, the Russian deputies have conveyed to the OSCE Assembly that Russia opposes any changes in the procedure during the next meeting, scheduled for November 25,» Khabarov said.
