Russian nationalist writer Zakhar Prilepin was injured when a bomb planted in his vehicle near the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod exploded Saturday, killing his driver, Russian news agency TASS reported.
The writer’s representatives have confirmed that Prilepin is hospitalized with a leg injury. He is conscious and his life is not in danger.
According to initial police information, the explosive device was a limpet bomb placed in the underbody of the car.
Police officers in the Nizhny Novgorod region are searching for two men suspected of involvement in the car explosion, local emergency services told Interfax.
It should be recalled that since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Daria Dugina, daughter of nationalist ideologue Alexander Dugin, and military blogger Vladlen Tatarski have been killed in attacks in Moscow and St. Petersburg, respectively.
