The Finnish government on Thursday announced a new military aid package to Ukraine valued at 55.6 million euros, the tenth since Russian President Vladimir Putin reported almost nine months ago that the first Russian tank had entered Ukrainian territory.
Since then, Finland has allocated a total of 160.4 million euros in such aid. Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen has pointed out that this latest package is «the largest of all» that have been sent so far.
The Ministry of Defense has stressed that the new aid package is for defensive purposes and is being sent at the Government’s own proposal, says the statement carried by the public broadcaster Yle.
For security reasons, the contents of this tenth package were not disclosed, nor was the method of shipment or the delivery time.
