At least five people were shot dead Wednesday inside a mosque in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, officials confirmed, pointing to a private dispute as a possible motive for the incident.
Kabul Security Department spokesman Jalid Zadran said the incident took place at a mosque in the Juaja Rauash area, before adding that a sixth person was wounded.
Zadran said in statements to the Afghan television channel Tolo TV that the attacker fled after the shooting and confirmed that security forces have launched a search operation.
