Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has ruled out that Russia and the United States are in contact to promote peace negotiations with Kiev following the recent words of the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, who assured that such a scenario was possible in view of Moscow’s military stalemate in Ukraine.
Thus, the Kremlin spokesman stressed that Milley’s words do not imply that Moscow has held talks with the United States to propose a negotiating table with Ukraine, as reported by the Interfax news agency.
Earlier, Milley had stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, despite having had «great success» in defending Kherson and Kharkov, had «difficult» to recover the entire Ukrainian territory occupied by Moscow.
«The probability of Russia achieving its strategic goals of conquering Ukraine, of invading Ukraine, the probability of that happening is almost zero,» he also stressed, adding that it could be possible, but that he did not see it feasible militarily speaking.
