Rapper Ye–formerly known as Kanye West–has acknowledged proposing to former U.S. President Donald Trump to be the vice president of his hypothetical presidential ticket for the 2024 election.
In a video shared on his Twitter profile, the rapper reported that he recently had a meeting with the former president at his private residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, according to The Hill.
In the aforementioned video, Ye has commented with irony that his proposal caught Trump off guard, who reacted by shouting that Ye would fail in his attempt to reach the White House, an idea that he also had momentarily in his head for 2020.
Although Ye and Trump have repeatedly been close, and the rapper even visited the Oval Office in 2018. A day after the 2020 presidential election, Ye posted a photo of himself on Twitter with the caption ‘Kanye 2024’.
