Left-wing candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (50.04 percent) has pulled ahead of his rival and current Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro (49.96 percent) with 69.86 percent counted, pointing to a comeback after Bolsonaro was ahead at the start of the count.
These data disclosed by the Superior Electoral Court on its website are provisional for the moment and could change as the recount progresses, although at all times Lula’s trend has been upward and Bolsonaro’s downward.
As happened in the first round on October 2, Bolsonaro has appeared as the most voted option until well into the count. Then it was Lula who won the most support, although not enough to win outright in the first round.
