Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has criticized as insufficient the limit on the price of Russian oil agreed by its Western allies.
«It cannot be considered an important decision to set such a limit for Russian prices because it is quite comfortable for the budget of a terrorist state,» Zelenski said in a message published on Saturday night.
Zelenski has pointed out that Russia has already caused «colossal losses» to countries around the world by deliberately destabilizing energy markets. «The world does not dare to really disarm it in terms of energy. It’s a weak stance,» he lamented.
The Ukrainian leader has thus warned that «it is only a matter of time» before measures against Moscow are further tightened. «It is a pity that this time will be wasted,» he said.
The EU and then its allies have announced a cap of $60 per barrel to be applied from Monday, but from the Ukrainian Presidency Andrii Yermak has asked to set this cap at $30.
