Ukrainian authorities warned early Monday that Kiev, the country’s capital, has been partially cut off from electricity and drinking water supplies in the face of a series of shelling carried out by Russian forces against «vitally» important facilities and infrastructure.
The mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed the information and pointed out that «there is no water in some areas of the capital» as a result of the attacks by the Russian Army, as he reported through his Telegram channel.
Thus, he has explained that Kiev’s anti-aircraft defense systems have already been activated and urged the population «not to panic» and protect themselves in shelters and safe places. «Be attentive to the information from the authorities,» he said.
The authorities have warned that explosions have been recorded in several parts of the region, as well as in the area of Cherkasi and Zaporiyia, where civilian infrastructure has also been damaged.
