The Russian Armed Forces have launched a new wave of attacks on several regions of Ukraine on Monday, according to local authorities, who have confirmed the activation of anti-aircraft alarms in practically the whole territory while waiting to verify possible effects.
An Air Force spokesman reported the launching of a first wave of missiles and raised the possibility that Russia is carrying out these attacks in different phases in order to mislead the anti-aircraft defense systems, according to the UNIAN agency.
The areas affected would include Zaporiyia, Odessa, Cherkassi, Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava and, again, the authorities have assumed that the attacks are primarily targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, resulting in widespread outages.
Ukrainian state-owned electricity operator Ukrenergo reported on Monday that the country has registered a new widespread power outage in a situation that «remains complicated» for the population in the midst of the Russian invasion.
