A 14-year-old girl died Monday in southern Germany after she was attacked on her way to class early in the morning in an incident that also caused serious injuries to another 13-year-old girl, a police spokesman said.
The attack, whose motives are unknown, took place in the town of Illerkirchberg, located in the vicinity of Ulm, at around 7.30 am.
The alleged perpetrator fled to a nearby apartment building, but security forces eventually arrested him and two other persons. The police have now closed the operation and have ruled out any risk to the public.
