Ukrainian authorities on Tuesday advised the Hungarian government to intercede and take steps to call on Russia to «end the war» and move forward on the road to peace.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko has thus addressed in a statement the words of Hungarian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamas Menzer, who pointed out that Hungary is not willing to train Russian forces.
«If Hungary wants to move towards peace, as it says, then it should start by asking Russia to end the war. Judging by the number of meetings they have had with Russian representatives, they should have already seized this opportunity,» he said.
On Monday, Menzer said that although several European countries are training the Ukrainian army, Hungary will not join this because «it wants peace and not war.»
