Iranian authorities on Monday issued new sanctions against four U.S. entities and ten individuals for meddling «in the internal affairs» of Tehran, promoting violence and unrest in the country or increasing economic restrictions against Iran.
The measures, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, include Assistant Treasury Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson, General Michael Kurilla, who is part of the US Army’s Central Operations Command, CENTCOM, as well as Lieutenant Gregory Guillot of the same agency.
In addition, Tehran’s ‘blacklist’ also includes Mark Wallace, executive director of United Against Nuclear Iran, a bipartisan non-profit advocacy organization, and a commander of the Ninth Air Force, according to the Mehr news agency.
These new restrictions mean that individuals and entities are subject to visa bans, as well as the impossibility of entering Iranian territory, in addition to having their bank accounts in Iran’s financial system blocked or their property and assets in Iranian territory confiscated.
