Peru’s Prime Minister, Anibal Torres – PRESIDENCIA CONSEJO DE MINISTROS PERÚ

Former Peruvian Prime Minister Anibal Torres announced Saturday his intention to go «underground» after discovering that he had been included in the ongoing investigation of former President Pedro Castillo for having attempted to perpetrate a coup d’état.

Torres, in his Twitter account, denounced that his inclusion has no other reason than «having heard the presidential message».

President Castillo launched on Wednesday a speech to the nation in which he decreed the dissolution of the Parliament and the implementation of a Government of exception. What is now being investigated as a coup attempt was not supported and finally the president was dismissed by the Congress and arrested by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The former Prime Minister, the fourth head of government of the Castillo administration, resigned on November 25, after Congress refused to amend the law limiting the calling of referendums in the country.

«The Attorney General’s Office, without reason, has denounced me for being part of a criminal organization and disturbance of justice. Now it does it for Rebellion and other crimes, just for hearing the presidential message», he has made known in his Twitter account.

«He says that prosecutors are political operators. Faced with this I go underground,» he has asserted.
