At least five injured after shooting on Coney Island boardwalk in New York City, U.S.

At least five people were injured Sunday in a shooting on the Coney Island boardwalk in the U.S. city of New York.

The NYPD is still trying to identify the suspect who caused the shooting, which occurred around 2.00 am (local time) in the morning and has resulted in two women and three men wounded, as reported by the US network CNN.

Among the wounded is a 31-year-old man who is in critical condition in hospital after being shot in the back, police said.

The other four victims are in stable condition. A 27-year-old woman who has been shot in the leg, a 26-year-old woman with another shot in the leg, a 36-year-old man who has been shot, and a 19-year-old man shot in the leg, according to police sources reported by ‘New York Post’.

The authorities have explained that a large group of people was gathered on the Brooklyn boardwalk at the time when someone started shooting.
