At least a dozen people have been killed in a possible suicide bombing in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, which reportedly preceded an attack by a group of gunmen on the headquarters of the Ministry of Education in the city.
The provisional death toll was confirmed by police sources to the DPA agency and the official Somali news agency SONNA, while sources of the Somali Times newspaper confirmed that a group of armed men entered the Ministry and began to open fire.
Among the dead, reported Voice of America sources, were reportedly a journalist and a police officer.
The sources of the ‘Somali Times’ reported at least «two large explosions» only «minutes apart» that preceded the attack on the headquarters of the Ministry, on Sobe Road, a busy area with commercial areas around it.
